After months and months of planning, Greenville Small Plate Crawl is almost here. I am more than excited to check about the 24 Restaurants signed up for our inaugural event. Roost, American Grocery, Southern Culture, IPA, Restaurant 17, Coffee Underground, Shortfields, The Forest, and Breakwater are only a few on my list!
In case you’ve been off the grid and missed all of the coverage, Greenville Small Plate Crawl is happening Monday, March 24 through Wednesday, March 26. Twenty-four of Greenville’s hottest restaurants have signed up and have come up with special Small Plate Crawl menus of 5-7 items ranging from $3-$8 (with a few drink specials thrown in). Here’s how it works: you go on our website www.greenvillesmallplatecrawl.com, check out the menus for each restaurant, pick your favorite dishes, print out your Passport (which has hours for participating restaurants), plan your best route using the handy tool on the site and CRAWL! Take your Passport from restaurant to restaurant sampling delicious small plates and when you check out, get your Passport stamped.
1) Crawl with cash because it gets you in and out faster.
2) Ask the server to bring your check when he/she brings your food. When you finish eating, you can pay with cash and you’re out!
3) TIP WELL. The servers are working extra hard during the Crawl and they are making less money. Show them some love.
4) Don’t Crawl with 15 people and order one dish to split. That’s RUDE! Order accordingly. Even though your entire party gets stamped if you order one dish, it’s not nice. Sharing is encouraged, but don’t abuse it. (Again, tip well.)
Turn in your Passport at the last restaurant you visit. After five stops, you qualify for prizes! Go to ten restaurants or 15 and the prizes keep getting bigger. How about a $25 gift card to a participating restaurant, a gift basket from Charleston Cooks!, or an overnight stay and dinner for two at either the Hyatt or Hotel Domestique. I’m tell you, the prizes are amazing (and the small plates are too!).
I know I have my restaurants all lined up. I’m hitting 20 restaurants in three days. It can be done! I hope to see you out there!
