Food Pantry Crisis in South Carolina
I am DEVASTATED for the people in the Midlands of South Carolina. How can I not post something on the blog about this? I will return to normal programming later to catch you up on last week’s adventures, but this is important and necessary. I totally cleaned out my closet yesterday for a clothing delivery. Some people lost EVERYTHING. Do you know how hard it is to find plus size clothing in Goodwill and Miracle Hill stores and clothing pantries? It’s a tough world for the fluffy. Anyway, my thoughts are with everyone who is struggling and we all need to do what we can to help them get over this really awful time.
Please think of your local food pantries when you are giving. Everyone shifts their donations to the struggling areas and the local food pantries suffer. We have people who depend on those pantries to feed their families every week. If the shelves are empty, cabinets at home are empty.
Harvest Hope is based in Columbia, serves the whole state, and is a great place to send funds. $25 buys 125 pounds of food to feed those in need. Please give. They stock food pantries all over South Carolina, and you can designate geographically where you want your funds to go. Tell them Gap Creek Gourmet sent you.
