I am beyond excited to announce that Leopard Forest Coffee Company has signed me as their Brand Ambassador for 2014/2015 For the next year, I will be the local coffee roaster’s brand champion. As a part of the Brand Ambassadorship I will be Leopard Forest’s brand representative at the International Food Blogger Conference in Seattle in September.
My relationship with the company goes way back. Shortly after Leopard Forest Coffee Company opened as a coffee roaster and cafe on Main Street Travelers Rest in 2005, I became a devoted regular. Travelers Rest Arts Mission, the nonprofit arts organization I founded and ran for three years, was brainstormed and built at the corner wooden table in the coffee shop. The coffee shop was a meeting place for local artists, students, business people. We all sat with cups in hand, sipping on coffee and coming up with ways to change the world. You can imagine my attachment to the brand.
Leopard Forest Coffee Company eventually let go of the cafe to focus on roasting. They are now located just up the road in Marietta, South Carolina, but continue to be the only coffee source for The Forest coffee shop on Main Street, Travelers Rest, my office away from home. You can still find me a lot of days at the wooden corner table transplanted from the old coffee shop with Leopard Forest Coffee in my cup.
Did you know Leopard Forest Coffee Company is the only “field to cup” coffee company in South Carolina? About 75% of their coffee beans are grown on the family’s coffee farm in Zimbabwe with other origins sourced from places like as Nicaragua Selva Negra. They are a vertically integrated company, meaning the same people are involved from growing the plants to packaging the product.
I’m proud to shout their praises!
