Hello, all! It’s flu season. Yes, it totally took me out last week. Talk about clearing a girl’s calendar! Here’s my public service announcement: Don’t forget to wash those hands! And if you are sick? Stay at home!
Where did you get those glasses?
I stop people all of the time to ask about their glasses, and I probably waste a good hour a week scoping out new glasses online. (As I write this, yes, I am aware that might be a problem.) What came in the mail when I was horizontal? A little perk-me-up: new glasses! I was so stoked to get an offer from Firmoo to try out their specks. Being that I am obsessed, I said yes, yes, YES! I just entered in my Rx on their site, picked my frames and they came right to me, ready to wear! Comfortable and so cute. They have fabulous, stylish frames for great prices. Check them out and let me know what you think!
What’s your favorite restaurant?
I’m asked this question all the time. Guess what? It’s sort of like airline costs, it changes all the time. One thing that is constant, is my love of Stella’s Southern Bistro. When they opened in 2008, they were one of the first restaurants in the Upstate to focus on farm-to-table fare, and continue to still to put out beautiful, amazing food. Last night, Stella’s hosted Greenville Blog Society. We previewed their new Spring Cocktails (Grapefruit Ginger Fizz, Hibiscus Margarita and Southern Heat Celery Cup) and noshed on their seasonal menu offerings. Not a single dish disappointed. I couldn’t get enough of the Hibiscus Margarita. It made me crave summer! It was a pleasure to be back at Chef Jason Scholz’s table. Check out my first review of Stella’s from 2012!
Are you really gluten free?
Yep. I’m totally gluten free now. Believe me, I don’t miss it! If eating a biscuit caused you that much pain, you wouldn’t miss it either! At least I can still eat cake. There are some dang good gluten free products out there! But, I about had a stroke yesterday when I walked up to Coffee to a Tea in Greenville and they were closed. Not just closed for the day. I mean CLOSED. For good. Where will I get giant slices of gluten free cake? I went to GiGi’s Cupcakes today for gluten free cupcakes. “I’ll have three,” I say. She says,”If you buy 5, you get one free.” “I’ll have six,” I say. Here’s to showing a little self control. Maybe they’ll last until Saturday… not likely.
Is it Spring yet?
Judging by the beautiful weather, my dogs’ need to be outside, and the CRAZY event calendar in Greenville, I’d say so. Let’s get this started, shall we?
