TRFM Bike Day this Sat!

Travelers Rest Farmers Market has a seriously fun family day planned this Saturday, July 26. They are celebrating their mid-season with a Bike Day and Tomato Sandwich Cook-off. Yum! Participating chefs are from some of Travelers Rest best restaurants: Restaurant 17, Upcountry Provisions, Orleans, Robin Glenn (food blogger at bohobirdy), Whistlestop Café, Swamp Rabbit Cafe and Grocery, Shortfields, Healthy Farms, Hungry Drover and more. The Top Chef style Tomato Taste-off starts at 10:30 and runs til noon. Buy a plate, taste some sandwiches, then stick your plate in the box in front of the most tasty! A portion of proceeds will go to TR GREEN and Momentum Bike Club.
Bring your bike, even if you don’t ride to the market! There’s a 75 foot long family friendly pump track by Ride Gardens. Greenville Recreation District will on hand setting up a bike course race and will be demoing the new, and uber cool conference bike. I’d love to take this for a ride! Bikers can load up on swag and gear from Sunrift Adventure, check out some amazing bamboo bikes by Bamboo Bike Maker, and duel your friend in the Momentum Bike Club stationary bike race to raise funds for charity.
Hincapie Sportswear and Hotel Domestique will host a program for road bikes. Check out some vintage bikes, see what’s new with the gals at Pedal Chick and don’t miss The Village Wrench. Upstate SORBA is also hosting an Alley Cat at 11:45. Bring your bike (family friendly) and meet at the Trailblazer Park for 3-15 miles of riding, mostly on the Swamp Rabbit Trail through downtown TR. $5.00 for members, $10.00 for others. Ride local. Shop local. (There’s apparently riding and shopping involved. FUN!)
Love food? Love your bike? It’s gonna be a good time, folks. I’m definitely hitting it for my market morning cinnamon roll from Upcountry Provisions and cup of joe from Leopard Forest Coffee Co.
The market is located at 225 Wilhelm Winter Street in Travelers Rest at Trailblazer Park. It’s just yards off of the Swamp Rabbit Trail so ride your bike, bring your bag, and knock out your weekly stock-up of groceries from more than 50 vendors! See ya out there bright and early.
